Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on
September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Tina Knowles, her mom creates the
glittering costumes, as does Mathew Knowles is the Destiny's Children's
manager. Solange, her sister (they're 4 years apart) has released her debut album.
She dances alongside her sister at DC-3 shows. Beyonce is Louisiana Creole
& African descent. Her group was found by Whitney Houston. Lovefool by
The Cardigans is one of her top songs. Her top item of clothing is a pair of
work metallic boots. She has written and recorded many of the group's tunes,
including smash hits "Jumpin Jumpin", "Bootylicious",
"Nasty Girl", "Independent Women", "Happy Face"
and "Apple Pie a la mode". The lead singer in Destiny's Child's
singing group. She opened for Christina Aguilera in 2000. TLC was the opening
act (1999). The cat is named Master P. She attended the High School for the
Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. Solange is Nixon & Koi
Knowles' older half sister. Once appeared in Star Search (1983). In 2001, she
became the first African American woman to be awarded the ASCAP Pop Songwriter
of the Year Award. She is an avid fan and admirer of Middle Eastern music. Her
most popular success to date is her song "Crazy in Love" (2003). She
was a participant of several awards shows during 2003 which included the Radio
Music Awards (MTV Europe Video Music Awards), Billboard Awards and the
Billboard Awards. She also appeared at an South African AIDS benefit show in
November of 2003, which was put on by Bono of U2 to fight the AIDS epidemic in
sub-Saharan Africa. On February 8, 2004 she received five Grammy Awards,
including Best Contemporary R&B album for "Dangerously in
Love". She was also awarded the highest number of awards this year's (2004)
performance. Mathew is her father. Tina is of Louisiana Creole origin. Her
ancestors include African as well as French and also have ancestors in
Louisiana as well as Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish descent, and is
distantly related to Breton, Spanish, Indonesian, and Chinese roots from her
maternal side in addition. The singer has been quoted as saying that in order
to overcome her shyness, she created an acting persona dubbed
"Sasha".
